This year myself and my best friend/sister/co-writer are heading to the Australian PBR Finals down in Sydney. As we're both big PBR (Professional Bull Riding) fans this is an exciting trip as we've never been together since we're presently located in different states of the country.
So for inspirational / science reasons here's a little bull riding action for your Saturday :)
First up you'll need to know how it all works:
Let's be honest, it's a dangerous sport:
Now for a few guys in action. First up an Aussie, 'The Dancing Cowboy' Ben Jones:
A must see is the reigning world champion, Silvano Alves. I had the pleasure of watching him ride when he came to Australia late last year. A brilliant rider, it's no surprise he's the world champ:
I had to include one of my favourite riders, Austin Meier. It's always thrilling to watch him ride:
Of course I couldn't leave out the world's best entertainer Flint Rasmussen:
It occurred to me this morning that I haven't spoken about the Glengarry Series on here yet.
I intend to rectify this now.
The Glengarry Series is an Australian Outback Romance series which will be written by Mia Henderson and myself. The series centres around an Australian family, the Bailey's and their family cattle station, Glengarry. Each of the Bailey siblings will get a novel as well as some additional stories for the fun of it.
January has been a very productive month for the series. I've been working hard with my co-writer on the Glengarry Series, Mia Henderson to get the first novel polished and submitted. Currently we have the first novel ready to go and are putting the finishing touches on a short story that occurs towards the end of first story.
From here we're looking for a publisher for the series while we continue writing.
While I can't say much about the first book, I will say that I'm looking forward to introducing Brendan and the rest of the Bailey clan to everyone. I've got a feeling that you'll love them as much as Mia and I do.
I'm going to start up a spotlight on country women across the globe. If you have a suggestion for an awesome country chick you'd like me to spotlight, drop me a line at any of my social media. I'd love to hear everyone's suggestions.
For my first selection I've chosen the beautiful Miranda Lambert.
Miranda is an all American country singer who takes badass to a whole new level.
She tours around the states in a bus converted into a little cottage.
As well as being a country music star, she's a cowgirl at heart.
She even has space in her big country heart and busy schedule for re-homing unwanted pets. 2014 saw her team up with Pedigree as the face of their Adoption Drive.
Just when you think you can't love her more, the woman has her own cocktail. The #randarita.
If you're after the receipe for this sweet cocktail, you can find it here.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to listen to Miranda REALLY loud. <3
I hope everyone rang in the new year safely. Though a few of us might be looking like this little guy. Cute, but a touch windswept this morning.
Here's to a successful 2015 for all of us. Remember to chase down your dreams, whatever they may be. I intend to charge mine down like I'm powering to that last barrel in the race.
It's about time I got this little country space up and running, so here we are.
Now, I'll warn you things might get a little strange around here. However I endeavour to push the boundaries in everything I do, and outback romance isn't any exception.
In time I'll talk a little about the outback romance series that I've had the pleasure of writing with my best friend, but for now we'll just say hi, tip our hats and settle down with a bold beverage. It's a pleasure having you here and I look forward to sharing my love of all things country with all who stop by.
